Conceived by Sheldon Epps and directed by Wren Brown, the interweaving stories are defined through songs that cover the range of this American art form, from Bessie Smith to Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Cox, Ida Cox and more.
